Workshop Photography
Create the perfect picture!
In the ambiance of the villa we have experienced photographers who will train you for 'the perfect picture'. The lessons are given in principle, depending on the size of the group, by 1 or 2 experienced photographers. Monique Shaw, Hennie Keeris or Claudia van der Starre are your teachers to obtain the perfect picture. The lessons consist of a bit of theory, but mainly practical lessons. In consultation, a specific theme can be chosen. The lessons take place from 10-14 hours. Afterwards you are free to enjoy the pool or beach or some Spanish culture or sports or just have a nice meal somewhere. We have several recommendations for this. Day 1 consists of lessons at the villa, day 2 and 3 lessons on location and day 4 is the lesson at the villa with a BBQ as a conclusion. The costs for 4 days stay in the villa with breakfast, 1x a drink, 1x BBQ and 4 half days photography workshop are: 800 euro per person. Minimum number of participants 6, maximum number of participants 8.
It is possible to book a photography workshop for 5 days instead of 4. The additional costs are 175 euro per person.
You must arrange your own flight. Transport from the airport to the villa and back is organized by us. Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss additional wishes. Contact us via our e-mail address info@villalavidaenrosa.com
The available dates in October 2024 are: 14 to 18 October 2024
Besides that we have in 2025 available week 12/13/14/15/18/20.
About Monique Shaw:
Monique Shaw graduated in Photonics, scientific photography. After her training, she became the first female military photographer in the Royal Netherlands Navy. Her strength lies in translating words, wishes and ideas into striking images.
Since 2009, Monique Shaw has worked as an independent photographer for companies, government institutions and private individuals. Over the years, Monique has become known as a photographer for events, portraits and company reports. Her greatest hobby is travelling and she also captures impressive moments there. Monique also gives courses to help everyone become better behind the camera.
An unforgettable experience. That was it as ‘City Photographer’ Leiden in 2016. Monique Shaw made a page-sized photo for the Leids Dagblad every week – where each photo, according to experts, ‘is human and tells its own story’. The photos and texts are captured in a striking photo book. The book gives a gripping picture of the times – a beautiful view of Leiden and its inhabitants.
BOOK: Leiden between tablecloth and napkin
“Leiden between tablecloth and napkin” is the title of the journey of discovery that City Photographer Monique Shaw made through Leiden for a year. Leiden is an intimate world city with a rich history where many interesting people live and work. Sometimes for generations, sometimes people who come to Leiden from all over the world and also go back. This creates a city with residents who cherish small ambitions and residents who come up with big and sky-high plans – both worlds are covered in Monique Shaw’s photos.
About Hennie Keeris:
Years of experience as a professional photographer makes Hennie a professional in a wide range of photography. His career began as an assistant to sports photographer Peter Smulders in Eindhoven. Once he got the hang of it, he spent 4 years in the Royal Navy. In the Navy, he was literally and figuratively thrown in at the deep end and learned a lot about photography, but perhaps even more about social issues and dealing with people in different ranks and positions.
This was followed by a long period at the Ministry of Defence, where he captured the entire range of the defence world on camera. It took him to the most diverse places on earth, where he became acquainted with other countries and cultures. For Defence, he filled the weekly Defence newspaper and various magazines. National journalism also regularly used his photos. During this period, Hennie grew into a versatile photographer who only needed one word and learned to improvise where necessary.
After these adventurous and demanding years, Hennie decided to choose a completely different direction in photography and continued as an independent photographer in commercial photography. He made company reports, portraits and product photography for various companies and institutions. This turnaround also gave him time to use his experience for volunteer work at the Make a Memory foundation.
After moving to Spain, he did not lie on the beach but discovered real estate photography. In Spain, the presentation of houses is still in its infancy and gave him opportunities to have his professional input here too.
Hennie also thought (when he was lying in the beach chair, for once) that it was time to share his experience and knowledge with people who wanted to learn how to take better photos.
And that is where we have now arrived. You will get to know Hennie as someone who likes to share his knowledge about photography, is patient and takes you by the hand to help you take better photos.
About Claudia van der Starre:
The photo that needs no words. That tells a different story and shows something new every time you look. Photos that continue to intrigue, because they are so surprising, cool and different that you wonder if they are real. The photo that remembers what people have forgotten. Photos as artistic eyewitnesses. What you see comes to life. These are the photos that Claudia van der Starre (1968) takes. Her great passion is photos that are strikingly different and therefore last. Those that capture a moment forever. Moments that Claudia directs in detail or that just happen to her.
Claudia van der Starre and her Nikon camera have been inseparable since she was a child. She traveled the world and photographed the most beautiful moments of her life. Five years ago she completed her photography studies and exchanged her job in marketing for a full-time adventure as a photographer. Since then, Claudia has been doing what is in her genes: taking artistic, fascinating photos based on daily events and encounters.
She organizes every photo shoot herself. From the models to the clothing, from the location to the catering, from the accessories to unpredictable elements. Because she has complete control over her work, every photo bears her unique signature.
